At the center l'Arco, we practice Zen according to the teachings of the Soto School
as established at the San Francisco Zen Center
founded by Shunryu
Suzuki Roshi (author of the famous book Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind).
The core of our activity is sitting meditation or
zazen. Besides zazen, we also practise
walking meditation or kinhin and the chanting of traditional texts or
We also study the doctrine itself as well as Buddhist philosophy in general and several
practices traditionally related to Zen, such as the
Tea Ceremony, the Meal Ceremony and the
sewing of the Buddha's robe.
We also organize retreats or sesshin, of one or more days, both in town and in the countryside.
